*Cataloguing of Wild Higher Plant Diversity in the Altai Mountains of China* presents the findings of the Third Comprehensive Scientific Expedition to Xinjiang. The species included in this volume are cataloged in accordance with the latest domestic and international research findings in plant taxonomy. Bryophytes are arranged according to Jia Yu’s Bryophyte Family-level Classification System (BPG) (2024); lycophytes and ferns follow the Liu Bing–Liu Su Classification System (2024); gymnosperms follow Yang Yong’s Classification System (2022); and angiosperms follow the APG IV system. In total, this volume catalogs 2,547 species of wild higher plants found in the Chinese Altai Mountains (including subspecies and varieties, hereinafter referred to collectively as "species"), belonging to 72 orders, 172 families, and 735 genera. Of these, approximately 1,139 species—accounting for 44.7% of the total—are distributed exclusively within Xinjiang. The volume also includes 175 newly recorded taxa (comprising varieties and species newly published in 2024). Specifically, the book covers 401 species of bryophytes (spanning 34 orders, 73 families, and 156 genera); 32 species of lycophytes and ferns (5 orders, 12 families, and 14 genera); 13 species of gymnosperms (3 orders, 3 families, and 6 genera); and 2,101 species of angiosperms (30 orders, 84 families, and 559 genera).
