Illustrated Catalogue of Lycophytes and Ferns of Chebaling (China). 2025. illus. (col.). 293 p. gr8vo. Hardcovr - In Chinese, with Latin nomenclature.

The *Illustrated Catalogue of Lycophytes and Ferns in Chebaling*, part of the *National Nature Reserve Biodiversity Conservation Series*, systematically records the diversity and ecological characteristics of lycophytes and ferns within the Chebaling National Nature Reserve in Guangdong Province. Located in the eastern section of the Nanling Mountains, the Chebaling Reserve features a significant altitudinal gradient and a complete ecosystem, representing a typical example of the vertical zonation of mid-subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forests. It provides important research subjects for studying the distribution and evolution of lycophytes and ferns. "A Pictorial Guide to Lycopodiaceae and Ferns of Chebaling" is based on a systematic survey of the reserve in 2023, combined with historical data. It records 229 species (including infraspecific levels) belonging to 75 genera and 25 families of lycopodiaceae and ferns. This includes 15 species belonging to 6 genera and 2 families of lycopodiaceae, and 214 species belonging to 69 genera and 23 families of ferns. Two new records for Guangdong Province were also discovered: *Leptochilus shintenensis* and *Hymenasplenium apogamum*. The book provides detailed descriptions of the taxonomic status, morphological characteristics, ecological habits, distribution range, application value, and conservation status of these plants, revealing the floristic characteristics of the reserve: ? significant relictness, with a high proportion of monotypic families and genera; ? predominantly tropical and subtropical flora; ? abundant plant resources with edible, medicinal, ornamental, and industrial uses; ? prominent conservation status, including 5 species of national second-class protected plants and 2 threatened species. The "Illustrated Guide to Lycopodiaceae and Ferns of Chebaling" not only provides a scientific basis for biodiversity conservation in the Chebaling Nature Reserve, but also serves as an important reference for long-term monitoring, scientific research, and popular science education of subtropical forest ecosystems.
