Illustrated Guide to Vascular Plants in the Coastal Area of ??Jiangsu* covers a geographical scope encompassing bedrock coasts (from an elevation of 20 meters down to sea level), sandy coasts (extending from the sea inland to agricultural fields and brackish/freshwater bodies), and muddy coasts (extending from the sea inland to agricultural fields and brackish/freshwater bodies). The volume documents a total of 476 vascular plant species found along the Jiangsu coast, classified into 86 families and 285 genera. These species span three major taxonomic groups - ferns, gymnosperms, and angiosperms—specifically comprising 11 fern species (belonging to 7 families and 7 genera), 9 gymnosperm species (belonging to 3 families and 8 genera), and 456 angiosperm species (belonging to 76 families and 270 genera). The plants featured in this book are arranged according to their taxonomic groups, following the sequence of ferns, gymnosperms, and angiosperms; within each group, the families and genera are ordered in accordance with the *Duoshi Plant Encyclopedia*.
