Based on specimens collected and photographs taken by the authors, "Diversity of Macrofungi in the Horqin Sandy Land, China" documents 24 orders, 100 families (excluding orders and families whose taxonomic status is uncertain), 258 genera, and 672 species of macrofungi from the Ascomycota and Basidiomycota phyla. This report provides a comprehensive and objective overview of the macrofungal resources and diversity of the vast Horqin Sandy Land. Each species is accompanied by original color photographs and a textual description of its primary macromorphological and microstructural characteristics, ecological habits, economic uses (edible, medicinal, and toxic), and approximate distribution within China.
