Orchids of Andhra Pradesh: A Pictorial Guide is a field guide aimed at documenting the diverse orchid species found in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, which includes the biodiverse Eastern Ghats. The book deals with 102 orchid taxa across 45 genera, including one cultivated species. The main concern of this publication is narrowing of the gap between scientific knowledge and public awareness by providing detailed descriptions, high-quality photographs wherever available along with information on morphology, habitat, distribution, flowering period and ecology. Efforts are made to prepare the guide book in a clear and concise manner, minimizing technical jargon to make it accessible to a broad audience. Hopefully, this will pave the way for awareness and conservation of orchids in general and orchids dwelling in Andhra Pradesh in particular.
