The Clethraceae occurring in Ecuador are revised. Nine species ofClethra are recorded from Ecuador, two of which are described as new,viz. C. parallelinervia and C. crispa. Keys, descriptions and fullspecimen citations are provided and all species are illustrated. Theonly species of Cyrillaceae known to Ecuador, Purdiaea nutans, isdescribed and illustrated.
