Based on published literature— the moss flora of Asia, comprising 93 families, 555 genera, 3,902 species, 40 subspecies, 493 varieties, and 19 forms has been catalogued. Entries for each taxon include the accepted Latin name, the basionym, and synonyms; distribution within Asia is detailed by country, with bibliographic references cited wherever possible, while distribution outside Asia is summarized by continent. Additionally, type information is provided for some of the accepted species. This work represents the first systematic, comprehensive, and standardized catalog of Asian moss species, offering the first overview of the diversity and distribution patterns of mosses across the region.
