This book is the first to verify and sort out new taxa and type specimens published in East China. The author by consulting reference books and online databases, obtained original documents, combined with the collection history, sorted out the type specimens, solved historical problems, and verified the type specimen categories (especially the later selected types), collection places and collectors, and gave Chinese place names and names of individuals are listed separately for type specimens whose collection locations are doubtful and those that were misjudged to be from East China.

The book adopts the latest classification system and will be an important reference for the compilation and research of Flora of East China and related provincial flora. It also provides information and examples for the collection and compilation of plant type specimen information from the Republic of China and before. .
