The book is designed so that any plant found in the Yemen can be readily named. Diagnostic keys,many line-drawings and 40 coloured plates are provided. Information on ecology, distribution, accounts of main plant communities, history of botanical discovery, composition of Yemen flora.

Appendices with information on use of plants in traditional medicine, and a listof Arabic names.
