Represents an effort to bring together in a concise orderly manner detailed information regarding the Philippine moss flora. The specific descriptions have in most cases been made from local specimen, and the type material was used for this purpose whenever it was detailed. The affinities of the Philippine mosse flora are primarily Malayan. A marked Himalayan element appears in the mountains of northern Luzon, and the percentage of endemic species is high.
The final analysis shows a total of 512 species, representing 180 genera, known at present from the entire Archipelago.
