A list of the 11800 type specimens of Cormophytes preserved in the herbaria of China, including the species and infraspecific taxa of the families (or genera) concerned up to 1986. All the type specimens (holotype and isotype) are arranged in alphabetical order of the taxa concerned for each family (or genus). Scientific name (also in Chinese), original publication of the taxon in details, type locality, with area, collector's name with the field numbers, date of collection, kinds of type and the abbreviation of the Herbarium are also given. The fist part of this list comprises the type specimens of the families in Bryophytes, Pteridophytes, and Gymnosperms only. The lists for the families of Angiosperms to follow in the near future.
