The goal of this work was to bring to the visitors of the fortress and the city of Klis, but also to all interested parties, the richness of the flora of the fortress of Klis as well as its surroundings, which has over 300 plant taxa, including 16 endemics and 20 strictly protected species. The book is in a practical pocket format, with each taxon its short description, photos, flowering time and height are given, which allows every visitor to look for and find different species while walking around the fortress with the book in hand. Numerous interesting things have been added, from the local use of plants in Dalmatia in traditional medicine, beliefs, mythology and symbolism of plants.

The 204-page book describes a total of 92 plant taxa accompanied by numerous high-quality photographs taken by the author right in the area of the fortress. The book is written in as many as five languages (Croatian, English, German, Italian and French).
