The book presents in its seven chapters topics related to the areas of biodiversity and biotechnology. The first chapter presents how the expansion of agricultural frontiers in the Cerrado can interfere with the quality of water resources and the importance of monitoring them for the preservation of biodiversity in this Biome. The second chapter deals with biodiversity, innovation, bioprospecting and the development of technology in the Cerrado Biome. The third chapter presents the importance of scientific training for the preservation, conservation and adequate management of the Tocantinense Cerrado. The fourth chapter shows us characteristics of phytochemical research on three typical species of the Cerrado Tocantinense with pharmacological and/or toxicological interest.
