The essential reference work on "Laubmoose" (musci) of the Northern European countries (Sweden, Finland, Norway). - The book starts with a listing of literature concerning the Musci of Finland, followed by explanations of the many abbreviations used. A short chapter on the structure of Musci follows. The special part of the book opens with a survey of the system of M.Fleischer, so far as it applicable to the Musci of Finland, Norway and Sweden. The author aimed at utmost completeness with regard to the information on the distribution of species. Distributional references are so designed that an easy compilation of species occurring in a certain area is possible. The author elaborated for all larger and smaller groups suitable determination keys, followed not exclusively the dichotomacical method, but also practical points of view. The book contains 118 illustrations,which consist each of a larger number of figures, so that the book offers several thousand figures in total. The figures are, with few exceptions, originals.- Second hand copy. Good state.
