This is the third reprint of the orchid volumes of the famous Flora Brasliensis. Brasil offers besides New Guinea probably the highest number of orchids. Already at the end of the last century, Martius and his colleagues published their magnificent Flora Brasiliensis, thel argest flora ever published, including the hitherto unmatched treatment of orchids by COGNIAUX. The complete orchid-volumes illustrate nearly 1000 species and are still the basic item on orchids of this area.
