*Color Illustrated Guide to Pottiaceae Plants in the Mongolian Plateau* presents the first systematic survey and taxonomic revision of the Pottiaceae family (Bryophytes) within the Mongolian Plateau region. The volume encompasses 128 species and 8 varieties distributed across 33 genera and 5 subfamilies. This includes 6 species newly recorded for China, 9 species newly recorded for Inner Mongolia, 1 genus newly recorded for Mongolia, and 19 species newly recorded for Mongolia. Concurrently, 13 species have been excluded from the bryoflora of the Mongolian Plateau, while 6 species have been designated as doubtful taxa. The book features identification keys for both genera and species, providing for each taxon detailed morphological descriptions, habitat characterizations, geographic distributions, specimen citations, taxonomic discussions, and color plates illustrating microscopic features. Each plate depicts key morphological characteristics, including the habit of the plant, leaves, stem cross-sections, leaf apices, cells from the mid-to-upper and basal parts of the leaf, cells on the dorsal and ventral surfaces of the costa, and costa cross-sections. This volume serves as an essential reference tool for the taxonomic identification of Pottiaceae plants, as well as a vital resource for the study of bryophytes in China and East Asia.
