The text is grouped in two sections. The first section deals with general subjects (morphology, etc.). The second part offers the monographs, the Chinese names, scientific names, classification status, and main morphological characteristics of 306 species of large fungi distributed in southeastern Yunnan, which are presented in detail. The main references are also attached at the end of the book.

The images used are basically wild ecological photos, which are helpful for readers to understand the growth environment of large fungi. The book refers to the classification system of R. Singer and D.L. Hawksworth, and makes appropriate adjustments.
