Core Collections of Plant Genetic Resources. 1995. tabs.maps.XI,269 p.gr8vo.Hardcover.
Core collections have been developed to contain the geneticdiversity of a crop species and its wild relatives. Work on conserving crop plant genetic resources has always been concerned asmuch with the effective use of the resources as with conservingvariation per se. Core collections can make an important contributionto both objectives and, over the past decade have become an increasingly important part of discussions on conserving and using crop germplasm more effectively.
