One of the largest remaining expanses of undisturbed tropical rainforest, the Venezuelan Guayana, has nearly 10 000 species of plants.This will become a multi-volume flora of the area. Volume 1 and 2 willbe published October 1995. Orders will be recorded.- Includesgeographically the Venezuelan states of Amazonas, Bolivar and DeltaAmacuro and covers an area of nearly 500 000 square kilometers. Thereare 230 families and close to 9400 species of native and naturalized plants known to exist in the flora area. Since volume 2 includes allthe Pteridophyta of the area, it contains a key to the pteridophytefamilies. The families of spermatophyta, however, will appear in8 separate volumes, so the key to these families will appear in volume1.
