The study is based on fossil diatoms in 8 short sediment cores taken at the Rzucewo Deep and 4 long cores from the Kunzica Deep. The species composition of the diatom flora, distribution of ecological groups,statistical results and stratigraphic information supported by 14C data,and lithological analyses indicated that these topographical structures have different origin.
