Endlicher's grouping in classes, families and subfamilies was rather modern and resembles the actual system, although his grouping in Acrobrya, Amphibrya and Acramphibrya composition of the Cormophyta wasi n error. Endlicher's work was the bible of botanist of his time; because of its detailed diagnoses, literature quotations, distributional information and treatment of fossil plants it is still today of interest.
