Ex Situ Flora of China-Ericaceae contains a total of 195 species of 6 genera and 195 species of Rhododendronaceae ex situ cultivated in 9 botanical gardens in China (including infraspecific classification levels), including 158 species, 13 subspecies, and 12 varieties of Rhododendron. There are 12 species of other plant genera; among them, 1 extinct species, 5 critically endangered species, 2 endangered species, 12 vulnerable species and near-threatened species are included in the "China Biodiversity Red List - Higher Plant Volume" (2013) There are 23 species; 5 species of second-class protected plants listed in the List of National Key Protected Wild Plants (2021). Some botanical gardens have corrected the names of species that were wrongly identified, and supplemented the taxonomic information based on the description of wax leaf specimens; 13 species have been added or increased in threat level, and 2 species have been reduced in threat level. Each species includes information such as Chinese name, Latin name, Chinese alias, distribution and habitat, ex situ cultivation morphological characteristics, threatened status, introduction information and cultivation adaptability, phenology and main uses, and 2192 color pictures are attached, showing the main morphological characteristics of the species. Using the classification system used by Flora of China, genera (subgenera), groups (subgroups) and species are arranged according to the taxonomic key number.
