Arrigoni, Pier Virgilio
Flora analitica della Toscana. Volume 8. 2 vols. 2021. illus. 701 p. gr8vo. Paper bd.- In Italian, with Latin nomenclature.
The culture of the spontaneous flora of a region is fundamental for the management of the vegetal resources of the territory and of the landscape. The Tuscan flora is numerically one of the richest and most differentiated among those of the Italian regions. Its knowledge is not based on the simple cataloguing of the species, but above all on the description of the distinctive characters, the territorial distribution and the analytical identification of the components.
The last volume, in two volumes, of a demanding editorial project, the work contains the synthesis of decades of research carried out by the author on the territory with the specialized collaboration of other researchers of the University of Florence.
