Flora of Vlasina plateau contains 178 species of mosses, 5 species of horsetail, 14 fern species and 925 species of spermatic plants. 178 species of moss species are divided into the following classes:Marchanthiopsida (30 species), Sphagnopsida (12 species) and Bryopsida (136 species). 14 species of mosses are recorded for the first time for the area under study.
Naturally, seed-bearing plants are mainly represented by flowering plants (925 species). Some species of gymnosperms are introduced in the lake surroundings but they were not found in natural plant communities. 89 species of angiosperms are recorded in area for the first time, as well. However, a number of species (94) reported in previous studies were not recorded during our research, while some species (23) can be treated as extinct from Vlasina plateau. However, 23 subspecies, 32 varieties and 28 forms have been recorded during our research, among which 6 subspecies, 8 varieties and 13 forms are reported for the first time. Ranunculus auricomus var. biformis, Myosotis nemorosa and Alchemilla connivens are new taxa recorded for the flora of Serbia.Apart from the species mentioned above, Sagina saginoides and Alchemilla reniformis were found in Kosovo and Metohia mountains so far...
