Indore is a district in the west of Madhya Pradesh.
The Flora is represented by 1,432 species of wild and naturalized plants coming within 641 genera and 120 families. The system of Bentham and Hooker has been followed identification and with modifications in the light of The Plant List, version 1. 1, Sept., 2013. This monumental work has been brought out by the Royal Botanic Garden, Kew, England, The Missouri Botanical Garden U.S.A. and in collaboration with a very large number of experts drawn from various countries. The nomenclature is based upon this List. There are easy to follow keys for identification of families, genera and species. Basionyms and synonyms are provided as required for understanding the position of a species within the family, in various floras. Local/vernacular names are provided, where available. This is followed by brief description, phenology and distribution.
