The present work deals with 1136 species and 39 varieties belonging to620 genera under 151 families in phanerogams of flowering plants. Inaddition, 40 cultigens are also recorded. Besides, 33 pteridophytesbelonging to 19 families in cryptogams or non-flowering plants are alsoenumerated. Results of the observations are supported by maps (3),tables (3), line drawings of a few species and rare/threatened plants(13 plates), photographs (12 plates) depicting the vegetation of Raigad,other forts and hill tops; in sanctuaries and sacred groves; differentforest types; some economic, rare and noteworthy plants. Thiscontribution is based on extensive field work and intensivelaboratory/herbarium studies.
