As the name suggests, this book is a supplement to the definitive andwidely acclaimed "Flowers of the Himalaya" (1984) by Oleg Polunin andAdam Stainton. The Supplement contains some 350 species not previouslydescribed in the parent volume. These include a number of species commonin subtropical parts of the subcontinent and a number of exotics - manyof American origin which visitors frequently suppose to be indigenous.In addition, over 600 new colour photographs depict species describedbut not illustrated (or illustrated by black and white drawings) in"Flowers of the Himalaya". That volume, together with this Supplement,provides the most complete record available of the Himalayan flora.
