GARCIA ROLLAN, Mariano
Atlas Clasificatorio de la flora de Espana Peninsular y Balear. 3rd corrected edition. 2 vols. 2005 - 2009. Many col. figs. 1566 p. gr8vo. Hardcover. - In Spanish.
This book was produced with the aim of making it easier for students and amateurs to identify plants. It includes original, dichotomous and simple keys, by means of which you can find out the name of the species you are looking for, as well as thousands of illustrations, many of which are colour photographs. Thanks to these, if the reader has any doubts about finding the keys, they will disappear when looking at the figures and, often, these will be enough to identify the plant. In most cases, the user will have a picture of the plant or one of its important characteristics in front of him at the same time as the corresponding section of the key, so that he can be sure that he has made a correct identification.
In recent years, Spanish plants have been the subject of intensive study and revision by botanists, so we have tried to include in the book the most important changes that have taken place. The large number of species existing in Spain and the large amount of space taken up by the illustrations have obliged us to divide the work into two volumes. The second volume covers the rest of the families of Dicotyledons and the Monocotyledons.
