Genera of Lamiaceae in China. (Zhongguó chún xíng ke zhíwù shu zhì ). 2026. illus. 343 p. gr8vo. Hardcover.- Chinese, with Latin nomenclature.
This book, *Genera of Lamiaceae in China*, adheres to the classification philosophy that "taxonomic research provides up-to-date baseline data for other disciplines." Based on the research team's previously proposed new global classification system for Lamiaceae, it comprehensively reviews the classification history and current status of systematics research in Lamiaceae. It focuses on a complete revision and update of the genus-level classification of Lamiaceae in China, and reconstructs the classification outline and genus key table for Lamiaceae in China. In the genus introduction section, the book uses bilingual (Chinese and English) language and traditional hand-drawn ink line drawings to describe in detail the morphological characteristics, geographical distribution, species diversity, and current status of systematics research for each genus. Compared to the more than 90 genera and 800 species recorded in *Flora of China* and its English version, this book updates the Lamiaceae in China to 100 genera and over 1000 species. Of these, 23 genera have been merged into synonyms, and 26 genera are newly added: 13 genera were transferred from Verbenaceae, and 13 genera are new records, newly established, or restored in China. To date, the diversity of Lamiaceae plants in China encompasses 11 subfamilies and 19 tribes out of 22 tribes across 12 subfamilies globally. The publication of this book will reshape readers' traditional understanding of the diversity of Lamiaceae plants in China, providing users with fundamental data that connects with international research progress, and laying a theoretical foundation for the conservation, systematic evolution, and development and utilization of Lamiaceae resources in China.
