Plantengallen. Gallen in Nederland. 2017. 1400 col. photographs. 423 p. gr8vo. Hardcover. - In Dutch.
The book provides information on the history, biology and ecology of galls and the plants on which they occur in the Netherlands. It contains extensive photographic documentation on 400 species of galls, caused by nematodes, bacteria, aphids, leafhoppers, gall wasps, gall wasps, beetles, flies, butterflies, (gall) mites, plants and fungi. Each of these groups is introduced with general information, followed by a discussion of the species belonging to them, with much background information. The photographs show characteristic details, but also shape variations, cross-sections, and sometimes the causal agents of the gall. The book concludes with an extensive bibliography, a glossary, and registers for synonyms, Dutch names and host plants with the species they contain. Plant gall is a rich reference work for entomologists, phythopathologists, gardeners, (tree) nurserymen and enthusiasts.
