Guía de campo: briófitos de los bosques ibéricos. 2023. 259 p. Paper bd. In Spanish, with Latin nomenclature.
Bryophytes are a group of plants that a nature fan rarely approaches and enjoys, due to their small size and because there are no field guides that allow their identification, at least approximately. The objective of this guide is to cover this gap, at least partially, and help the reader to recognize in the field some of the most common species of mosses and liverworts in the interior forests of the Iberian Peninsula. With this guide and a field magnifying glass, it will be possible to discover what bryophytes are like, identify them by studying the characters visible in the field and find out their distribution on the peninsula. For this, photos of each species are included, pointing out when necessary the enormous differences that these plants present when they are dry or wet, accompanied by a text with the most important and visible characters to recognize them and a section to differentiate them from the most similar species. A dichotomous key is also provided that allows one to go step by step, discarding species until reaching the name of the one the reader has in his hands or at least one that is very similar.
Non-technical terminology has been used in this work, so that the combination of accessible text and photographs allows all those interested in the natural world that surrounds us, increasingly involved in projects, to deepen the study of this suggestive group of plants..
