The authors have limited themselves to those hybrids which have been raised, or which are very commonly grown in Singapore.Cattleya and its many relations have therefore been excluded. The most important orchid hybrids in Malaya are Arachnis, Renanthera, Vanda, and the hybrids between these genera, and also Dendrobium and Spathoglottis. Most descriptions have been drawn up from plants in cultivation in the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Notes on cultivation and propagation are added.
