Results of careful taxonomic studies on the extensive plant collections and field observations made between 2001 and 2003 in the Great Himalayan National Park and its adjoining areas in Kulludistrict, Himachal Pradesh.

The study aimed to provide base - line information on the diversity of the Hepaticae and Anthocerotae, their status and pattern of distribution within the park to facilitate better management by the park authorities.

The book provides thet axonomic accounts of 99 taxa belonging to 42 genera and 15 families of Hepaticae and 5 taxa belonging tp three genera and 2 families of Anthocerotae. This includes 3 species and 1 variety described as newto science.
