This is a detailed checklist of Myxomycota, Oomycota, Chytridiomycota,Zygomycota, non-lichenized Ascomycota, anamorphic fungi,Urediniomycetes, and Ustilaginomycetes in Iceland. For each species thereferences, synonyms and misapplied names, habitat or substrates, knowndistribution within Iceland and estimated frequency are listed. There are 1318 species which have been recorded in Iceland to the end of the year 2002.A list of fungi on each host species, type of substrate or bait was compiled. The second volume (in preparation, orders will be recorded) will list the remaining Basidiomycota class Basidiomycetes.
