For hundreds of millions of years, plants, true champions of adaptation, have been evolving to adapt to the effects of climate change on our beautiful planet.

The author's decades of experience in landscape gardening and extensive studies on the fossil remains of the oldest plants are the basis for the creation in Sarzana of a park dedicated to these wonderful, geometric plants. Special attention was given to the flora of our peninsula, especially that of the Apuan Alps and Monti Pisani. The work of studying fossils was followed by the search for surviving plants of the time and the long years of experimentation to succeed in reintroducing them correctly into our gardens.

This book is indeed a scientific presentation of the saga of the flora at the time of the dinosaurs, but it also wants to be an invitation to create, each in his or her own home, a small corner dedicated to Jurassic plants, to still enjoy their extraordinary beauty.

Learning about plants from the beginning of terrestrial life, those grazed in a time long gone by dinosaurs, has been one of the author's desires since childhood. To discover that many still exist is astonishing.

This is the first in a series of books that will be devoted to the flora of the different geological eras, with simple and practical fact sheets full of tips on how to find and cultivate them smoothly.

An important part of the Sarzana botanical garden, created by the author, is dedicated to the plants described in this book: an interesting read to accompany the reader in rediscovering the true native plants of our beautiful country.
