This is in fact a second edition of the 'Lexikon deutscher Bryologen' which was published in 1996 as volume 6 of the German bryological journal 'LIMPRICHTIA'. Five years later the second author has enlarged the volume considerably. It includes now 1335 bryophyte collectors, of which more than 400 are shown in portraits. The book includes biographical data, sketches of the lifes of the collectors, references for biographical data, complete list of publications, and pictures (so far as available) of all late bryologists but also bryophyte collectors, who appear on herbarium labels, or after whom bryophyte species have been named. Because of the much varying geographical circumscription of Germany, all German speaking bryologists were included also when they come from areas which do not belong to Germany today, as well as all Austrian and German speaking Swiss bryologists. - Second hand copy.
