This book deals with an introduction to marine fungi of the world andthe Indian coast, extensive literature review and a reference list.The volume details 208 species in 139 genera of Indian marine fungi in taxonomic groups, viz. Chytridiomycota, Ascomycota, Basidiomycota, mitosporic fungi and fungus-like organisms such as the Thraustochytrids. Each species is provided with a taxonomic citation, detailed description, drawings and photomicrographs, collection data and substrates they grown on. In some genera, keys are provided to species, while the volume concludes with a key to the identification of all taxa recorded for India and a table listing the distribution and substrata on which these fungi grown on.
