Mosses of the Greater Area of Belgrade and theit Bioindicator Significance. 2005. 130 p. gr8vo. Paper bd. - In Serbian, with 8 p. of English summary.
The topic of this research is establishing the composition of moss flora in the greater area of Belgrade, mostly in forest ecosystems which abound in various species of bryophyte. A taxonomic analysis of moss species has been carried out and a similarity index has been established for all the species in the greater area of Belgrade compared to the species living in the urban part of the city. All the researched localities in the greater area of Belgrade have been analysed as well as the important ecological factors of each species. Also, an analysis of all moss species on different types of habitats has been conducted, these being tree bark, tree stumps, rocks, stones, felled and rotten tree trunks, soil, etc.
The aim of the research was to establish taxonomic abundancea great diversity of mosses in the researched area, specific features of moss ecology, as well as the importance of certain species in bioindication. A research into the bioindicating importance of mosses is one of the most important aspects in urban ecology.
