Norwegian flora has come out with a new edition about every ten years since 1944 under different names (Norwegian flora, Norwegian and Swedish flora and Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish flora). In this 8th edition, more than 500 new plants have been found or at least proven in recent years. The text and keys have been reworked, and the information on distribution and ecology has been updated so that the flora reflects the major changes in Norwegian flora in the last 15 years since the previous edition.

Norwegian flora has been Norway's most used scientific flora for the past 70 years. Here you can find all the more than 3,500 species of vascular plants that have been found in the country, about 2,500 of them with identification keys and descriptions, information on ecology and distribution and comments on systematics. Norwegian flora is the only flora that contains keys: an easy-to-understand step-by-step method to be able to identify plants precisely. The book covers all plants that are found growing wild on the mainland and the Arctic islands, both domestic and foreign plants, and both those that have been deliberately introduced, and those that have arrived accidentally through human activity. Several authors have been involved in the work on this edition. Most of the species mentioned are also illustrated.

The book contains around 3,200 line drawings, and more than 400 of these are new for this edition.
