This fifth part of the atlas about RECENT spores of pteridophytesof the State of Rio Grande do Sul presents the study of the family Polypodiaceae (including Grammitidaceae), represented by the tribe Polypocdieae and tribe Grammitideae, with a total of 43 species. The spores are described in detail, with SEM and LM microscopy photographs.As complementary data, a photograph of a representative herbarium exsiccate and a brief morphological diagnosis of the sporophyte, as well as information about habitat and geographical distribution in Rio Grande do Sul are presented for each species.
