Rapid Propagation of Fast-growing Woody Species. 1992. (CASAFA Report Series,vol.3).Illustr. VIII,125 p.gr8vo.Hardcover.
Plant cell and tissue culture is now an established method which can beused for clonal propagation of plant material. While such propagationmay be uneconomic for field crops which can be readily propagated fromseed, the prospects for clonal propagation of woody perennials aregreater. A number of woody plants have been shown to produce multipleshoots and roots in vitro, and such micropropagation methods alsoinclude embryo culture and somatic embryogenesis. This book reviews ourcurrent knowledge of these methods for rapid propagation of fast-growingwoody species, and is based on a conference organized by CASAFA.
