The Red Book of the Komi Republic is an official publication containing information on the status of rare and endangered species of natural fauna and flora of the Komi Republic. It consists of two parts. Part one contains information on the distribution, ecology and biology, current status and population size, limiting factors, as well as adopted and necessary measures to protect fungi, including lichens, algae, bryophytes, vascular plants. The second part is about invertebrates and vertebrates (fish, amphibians, birds, mammals) animals.

The description of each species is accompanied by a map-diagram of the distribution area in the Komi Republic and a color original drawing. The book is illustrated with color photographs of animals and plants, typical places of their habitat and growth.
