For the first time, the distribution of each of 2438 species of plants,growing in Utah in more than one location and without benefit ofcultivation, will be graphically represented in the form of dots ondetailed relief maps 7 x 9 cm in size. The data for the publication wereobtained by critical examination of some 400.000 specimens housed in thevarious herbaria in Utah. Maps illustrating the distribution of thespecies are arranged alphabetically according to family and within thefamily alphabetically according to genus and species. Common names andalternate scientific names are provided in an index so that species maybe located by means of more than one name. The status of each plant -whether native or introduced, annual or perennial, herb, shrub or tree -its common name, customary habitat, flowering time, and altitudinalrange is provided below each map. A list of some 380 plants restrictedto one general location is provided in an appendix.
