This is a regional Flora in 3 parts for the drier part of Central and Northern districts of Tamil Nadu. The central region (formerly the Flora of Tamilnadu Carnatic) includes all the districts of the Cauvery delta. Besides covering the Coromandel Coast of Tamil Nadu and the Flora includes all the Northern districts of the State up to the border of Andhra Pradesh. The Flora is executed from systematic and first hand exploration of the sectors indicated above. The Flora follows the APG IV classification. The present volume is the text accounting for 3139 species from 1298 genera belonging to 1990 Families of seed plants.
