The Table Mountain National Park stretches from the Table Mountain and Signal Hill in the north some 50 km south to Cape Point, notorious for for its stormy seas and gale force winds. Fynbos vegetation covers most of the Park. Although fynbos covers most of the area, it is the much smaller patches of Renosterveld, Sub - tropical Thicket, and Afromontane Forest that add more to the genetic richness and unique biodiversity. It is these three vegetation types that are rare and/or most threatened in the Western Cape Province.
