Urban Parks between Safety and Aesthetics. Exploring urban green space using Visualisation and Conjoint Analysis methods. 2009. (Institut für Raum- und Landschaftsentwicklung IRL-Bericht 4). illus. 224 p. gr8vo. Paper bd.
This work describes the exploration of the use of urbanparks using visualisation and conjoint analysis methods. The research explores the use of a landscape analysis approach combining visualisation and quantitative methods for the assessment of existing situations and of proposed variations in urban parks. The aim of the study is to present a framework that integrates visual simulations and analytical methods to provide an innovative approach to investigate these sites. The proposed method can be used to measure several typologies of open green space, whether in the form of traditional or contemporary parks and gardens. The publication suggests an innovative way to explore the current methods available in the visualisation domain and social sciences. This combination has the potential to increase landscape architectural research and practice of open urban green spaces.
