The book presents the most important tropical African vegetation types: savannahs, semi-desert, rain forests, wetlands, and upland vegetation. Each region is selected on the most important trees and other plant species, which are presented in text and pictures. The relationship between vegetation and animals is briefly reviewed. Ecological importance of fungi in tropical forests and savannas is generally overlooked. Other topics are the advantages and disadvantages of forestry, and the ornamental plantsfrom Africa.
