Volume 1: Part 1: Fang Wenjing: Larch forest. 2026. illus. 890 p. gr8vo. Hardcover.- Chinese, with Latin nomenclature.
Larch forests are a typical representative group of deciduous coniferous forests in the mountains of the Northern Hemisphere, playing a vital role in maintaining ecological balance, environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, and economic development. Based on data from 727 community survey quadrats, this volume proposes a classification system for larch forests in China, including 13 phyla, 73 community groups, and 129 communities. On this basis, it systematically describes the appearance, structure, species composition, geographical distribution, natural environment, and ecological characteristics of each taxonomic unit; provides quantitative characteristic tables reflecting the composition and structure of phyla and community groups, statistical tables of typical quadrats for community groups, and photographs reflecting the appearance and structure of communities; and briefly describes the biological characteristics of dominant species, community dynamics and succession, and their value and conservation.
