Volume 120 - 121: Prance, Ghillean: Rhizophoraceae - Anisophylleaceae. 2018. illus. 82 p. gr8vo. Hardcover.
Vol. 120: Rhizophoraceae: A taxonomic monograph of the neotropical species of Rhizophoraceae is presented. The two families Rhizophoraceae and Anisophylleaceae have often been treated together taxonomically. However, clear evidence based on molecular biology and morphology shows that they are not closely related; thus, they are treated separately here. The Rhizophoraceae belong in the Malpighiales, close to the Erythroxylaceae, and the Anisophylleaceae are members of the Cucurbitales. Three genera of Rhizophoraceae (and 26 species) occur in the region.
Introductory material on the wood anatomy, on the pollen, and on the systematic position of Rhizophoraceae is provided. Also included are full descriptions, nomenclature, identification keys, at least one illustration of each genus, and distribution maps of all species. Three new species of Cassipoureaare described: C. toroensis, C. undulata, and C. remacamensis. // Vol. 121: Anisophylleaceae:A taxonomic monograph of the neotropical species of Anisophylleaceae is presented. The Anisophylleaceae belong to the Cucurbitales and are not particularly closely related to Rhizophoraceae, which are members of the Malpighiales. Two genera of Anisophylleaceae (each with two species) occur in the region. Introductory material on wood anatomy, leaf anatomy, morphology, and pollen is provided.
Full descriptions, nomenclature, identification keys, at least one illustration of each genus, and distribution maps of all species are also included.
