Volume 13:1: Tang, Zhiyao and Yanpei Guo (eds.): Temperate Deciduous Broadleaf Shrublands. 2026. illus. (col.). XV, 762 p. gr8vo. Paper bd. - In Chinese, with latin nomenclature.
Vegetation of China, Volume 13, Issue 1: Temperate Deciduous Broad-leaved Shrubland* covers a vegetation type found in temperate regions, characterized by shrubs that shed their leaves in winter. This volume begins by summarizing the global and national distribution, natural environment, and vegetation characteristics of temperate deciduous broad-leaved shrublands. It then provides a systematic description - based on standardized survey data from 2,055 sample plots across China - of the geographical distribution, natural environment, species composition, community structure, community types, biomass, and productivity of 21 formations, 42 association groups, and 96 associations. Rich in data and illustrations, the volume includes tables detailing the quantitative characteristics (structure and species composition) of formations and associations, as well as statistical tables for typical sample plots within association groups. Appendices include a list of vegetation types, a list of plant species, and indices of vegetation type names in both Chinese and Latin. By quantitatively describing the current status of temperate deciduous broad-leaved shrublands in China, this volume serves as a source of fundamental data for professionals in vegetation research, sustainable resource utilization, and conservation, while also offering valuable reference material for ecological science popularization, vegetation management, and ecological restoration projects.
